June 25-26, 2013

We left Sandusky, Ohio on Tuesday morning after a crazy day at Cedar Point. It was raining like mad and we were realised how lucky we were to have such a beautiful sunny day for Cedar Point the previous day. It rained on our drive to Cleveland, Ohio, which was only about an hour away from Sandusky, so it wasn't too bad of a drive. We arrived at our hotel in the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised with The Radisson. Our room was very spacious and had a good view of Cleveland. In the evening we took a walk to the Hard Rock Cafe and enjoyed seeing all the buildings in Cleveland. It was our first visit to a Hard Rock Cafe on our trip, so we were very excited. We walked around for ages admiring all the various displays on the walls. Every Hard Rock Cafe has a different local legendary burger, so we tried the Cleveland version and were very impressed - it was definately one of the best burgers we have had in America! When we decided to leave, we noticed that it was raining quite heavily, so we hung around at the bar and had some milkshakes. We chatted to the bartender for a while and he was telling us about all the bands he plays in. Eventually the rain passed, but there was still a pretty hectic lightning storm going on, so we walked back to our hotel pretty fast.

On Wednesday we visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. We were really looking forward to seeing the museum, as it is the only one of it's kind in the world. It has seven floors full of exhibits showcasing the history of rock and roll. It was such an amazing experience, we spent the whole day there! The highlight for me was going on board Johnny Cash's tour bus. It has been restored and converted into a tourist attraction, but still retains the authenticity of Johnny's life on the road. I recently watched the film "Walk The Line", which is about Johnny Cash's life, so I really enjoyed exploring his tour bus. There were many other exhibits, including a special tribute to The Rolling Stones. As far as I know, the museum changes their display on the 6th and 7th level every year, so it was really cool to see The Rolling Stones exhibit, as they are celebrating their 50th anniversary! We enjoyed picking up some merchandise from the Rock Hall shop . It was a truly incredible visit to the Rock Hall and I recommend clicking the link at the bottom of this post to view all the photos we took there.

In the evening we walked to downtown Cleveland to watch some bands at the House Of Blues. It was one of the most awesome clubs I've ever been to. Eisley and Say Anything put on a great show and we had a great end to an fantastic day in Cleveland.
